Samsung officially announced the Galaxy S23 Plus

Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus Officially Announced with 4700 mAh Battery and Gorilla Glass Victus 2

Samsung at its first Galaxy Unpacked event of 2023 announced the S23 Plus which is similar to its predecessor in many things but also comes with some upgrades where it is needed the most.

Design-wise, the S23 Plus is different from its predecessor - The S22 Plus from both the front and the back. Meaning, you can easily tell them apart well-placed side by side regardless of whether they are facing up or facing down.

The S23 Plus has more rounded corners and thinner bezels compared to its predecessor even though it still uses the Infinity-O display.

But the most easily noticeable design change is at the back with each camera ring laced with gold standing on its own without any module holding them together similar to the design of the S22 Ultra's camera.

Samsung S23 Plus is a 6.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X LTPO display smartphone with 2340 x 1080 pixels (FHD+) screen resolution, 393 PPI pixel density, and 120Hz adaptive high refresh rate.

Protecting the display and back of the S23 Plus is Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. Which is the latest version and comes with better scratch and shatter resistance.

Talking about resistance, it is certified with an IP68 rating which means it is dust and water-resistant for up to 1.5 meters and 30 minutes.

The Galaxy S23 Plus is powered by a 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. It is equipped with 8GB RAM as well as 256GB and 512GB internal storage options. It runs on One UI 5.1 based on Android 13 out of the box.

It does not support an SD card due to a lack of an expandable storage slot, and FM Radio, and does not come with a 3.5mm headphone jack.

There is no upgrade in its rear camera setup. It is equipped with the same 50MP main camera, 10MP telephoto camera, and 12MP ultrawide camera as the S22 Plus.

However, there is an upgrade in the selfie camera. It features a 12MP front-facing camera as against the 10MP on its predecessor.

It comes with a 4700 mAh battery with 45 watts of wired charging support and 10 watts of wireless charging support.

As for availability, it will be available in the Nigerian market before the end of the month. I will let you know immediately when that happens.
